As devastating flash floods hit Rajouri and Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir, reports reveal a grim scene of death and infrastructure damage. The floods, triggered by cloudbursts, led to ten deaths, with eight individuals still missing and feared dead under debris. The calamity also resulted in the destruction of homes, vehicles, and structures in the affected districts.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and L-G Manoj Sinha have been actively involved in assessing the situation and coordinating rescue efforts. Dozens of people were rescued from the flood-hit areas, while significant damage to houses, shops, and power infrastructure was reported. The flash floods have left a trail of devastation, with families losing their homes, belongings, and livestock.

Rescue operations involving various agencies are ongoing to locate missing persons and retrieve bodies. The Meteorological Department has issued warnings of possible flash floods and heavy rainfall, urging residents to remain vigilant. The floods have caused widespread destruction, with communities reeling from the loss of lives and property.
