Foreign Minister of Oman, Badr Albusaidi, and Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, United Arab Emirates’ Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, arrived in New Delhi to participate in the second India–Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (IAFMM). The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) welcomed the delegates, emphasizing the aim to enhance the strategic partnerships between India and the respective countries.
The visit of Foreign Ministers of Libya, Eltaher S M Elbaour, Somalia, Abdisalam Ali, and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, to New Delhi was also part of the IAFMM. The MEA expressed optimism that these interactions would bolster the bilateral relationships between India and the visiting nations.
External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar engaged in discussions with League of Arab States Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit to explore avenues for cooperation in various sectors. Following the meeting, EAM Jaishankar highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration and exchanged views on regional developments.
India is hosting the second IAFMM, with participation from Foreign Ministers of Arab League Member States and the Arab League Secretary General. The meeting aims to expand existing cooperation and foster stronger partnerships, building on the foundation laid during the first meeting held in Bahrain in 2016.
