One more foreign national has passed away due to injuries sustained in the Malviya Nagar fire incident, bringing the total death toll to 22, as confirmed by the Delhi Police. The individual who died was identified as a Nigerian national. The tragic event, which occurred on June 3 at the Flourish Stay Bed and Breakfast hotel in South Delhi, has claimed the lives of 13 foreigners and nine Indians.

Following the fire tragedy, a total of 47 individuals were rescued from the building, with some still receiving medical treatment. The owner of the property, Lavkesh Bajaj, was arrested and taken into custody by authorities. It was reported that Bajaj had been previously arrested for aiding Bangladeshi nationals in overstaying in the country by assisting them in forging documents.

In connection with the fire incident, the Delhi Police recently apprehended the hotel’s cook after investigations revealed that the fire was allegedly caused by his negligence. Meanwhile, government agencies in Delhi, including MCD, DDA, and the fire department, have intensified their efforts against violators of laws and regulations.
