Two foreign nationals who were injured in the fire at Flourish Stay B&B in Malviya Nagar, Delhi, which claimed 21 lives, have been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment. Currently, 15 patients, including 13 foreigners, are undergoing treatment at Max Hospital, Saket in south Delhi.
Two additional injured foreign nationals were transferred to the hospital’s Emergency Department from another facility on the day of the incident, June 3, and were discharged on June 4. Presently, six patients are on ventilator support, with all showing signs of improvement and remaining stable.
At Max Hospital, nine patients are in the ICU and wards, with the overall condition of all admitted patients reported as stable. There are no critically ill patients at the moment, as per the hospital’s statement.
The hospital mentioned that the injuries’ nature and severity vary among patients, but all admitted individuals are on the path to recovery, receiving comprehensive medical care and regular monitoring for optimal outcomes.
Authorities reported that 47 individuals were rescued from the building, with the injured currently receiving medical attention. Additionally, AIIMS Delhi received several injured persons, including police personnel who were part of the initial responders to the fire.
Following the tragic incident, the property owner, Lavkesh Bajaj, has been placed in police custody for four days. Bajaj had a previous arrest related to assisting Bangladeshi nationals with forged documents for overstay in the country.
