Forensic experts have started examining the site of an explosion at an alleged illegal firecracker manufacturing unit in Ahmedabad’s Ramol area. The blast, which occurred during the manufacturing process, resulted in nine fatalities and numerous injuries. The Forensic Science Laboratory team is gathering evidence to determine the exact cause of the tragic incident.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Mayur Patil mentioned that the initial investigation points to the explosion happening while firecrackers were being made. A detailed forensic analysis is ongoing to establish the precise sequence of events leading to the blast. The explosion, which caused a major fire and structural damage, took place at an open plot and a shed used for firecracker production.
The Rapid Action Force quickly responded to the explosion, aiding in the rescue efforts before the fire department arrived. The RAF Commander reported that the blast occurred about a kilometer away, triggering a swift emergency response. Firefighters managed to control the blaze using various vehicles, including water bowsers and rapid intervention units.
Hospital authorities confirmed that the death toll has risen to nine, with victims succumbing to severe burn injuries. The injured are receiving medical care, with one woman in stable condition. Senior civic and police officials, along with municipal representatives, visited the site to oversee rescue operations and ensure necessary medical assistance for the injured.
