In a significant development in the Twisha Sharma death case, a four-member forensic team from AIIMS Delhi finished the second post-mortem examination of Twisha Sharma’s body at AIIMS Bhopal. The autopsy, lasting nearly three to four hours, was meticulously conducted under strict scientific protocols and fully videographed for transparency.
After the autopsy, the AIIMS Delhi team, along with police officials, visited the crime scene at Twisha’s mother-in-law’s residence in Bhopal. They thoroughly inspected the house and surrounding areas to match physical evidence with the post-mortem findings, crucial for reconstructing the events of May 12 when Twisha was found dead under suspicious circumstances.
Led by senior forensic experts, including Dr. Sudhir Gupta, the team arrived in Bhopal following directions from the Madhya Pradesh High Court. Twisha’s family members identified the body before the procedure. Samples and viscera were preserved for further analysis, with the medical board expected to submit a detailed report in a sealed envelope.
Twisha’s maternal family has alleged dowry harassment and abetment to suicide by her husband and mother-in-law, while her in-laws claim she suffered from drug addiction. Samarth Singh, her husband, currently in police custody, is being interrogated by the Special Investigation Team, with plans for a crime scene recreation. The state government has recommended a CBI probe, and Twisha’s last rites were performed on Sunday.
