A forest guard lost his life, and another was severely injured in a rhinoceros attack at Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve (KNPTR) in Assam. The deceased, Sahabuddin, a 52-year-old Home Guard, succumbed to his injuries while being taken to Kohora Hospital.
The injured staff member, Ramen Borah, is receiving treatment at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital for serious injuries. The Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve authorities expressed condolences for the deceased and wished a speedy recovery for the injured personnel.
