A forest guard lost his life, and another was severely injured in a rhinoceros attack at Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve (KNPTR) in Assam. The incident occurred during routine patrolling duties at Bordoloni Camp under the Kohora Range. The deceased, Sahabuddin, a 52-year-old Home Guard, succumbed to his injuries while being taken to Kohora Hospital.

The injured staff member, Ramen Borah, is receiving treatment at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital for serious injuries. The Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve authorities expressed condolences for the deceased and wished a speedy recovery for the injured personnel. An inquiry has been launched to investigate the circumstances leading to the attack.

The rhino attack underscores the risks faced by frontline forest protection personnel during their duties. Forest teams are now working to track the rhinoceros involved in the incident. Officials are closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of personnel and prevent further risks.
