In a significant political move in Tamil Nadu, former AIADMK ministers Dr C. Vijayabaskar and M.R. Vijayabaskar officially became part of the ruling Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) at a ceremony in Mahabalipuram. M.R. Vijayabaskar expressed his happiness at joining TVK and praised its leadership, particularly Chief Minister Vijay. He announced Chief Minister Vijay’s upcoming visit to Karur on July 10 and emphasized the importance of allowing the investigation into the Karur case to proceed without bias.
The induction event was not influenced by political inducements, according to M.R. Vijayabaskar, who denied any involvement in horse-trading. TVK Thanjavur constituency MLA Vijay Saravanan highlighted a shift in the political landscape of the Cauvery Delta region, noting increased dissatisfaction with the AIADMK. He stated that the recent inductions would bolster TVK’s organizational strength before the Assembly elections and refuted claims of inducements, asserting that the new members had joined voluntarily.
Saravanan dismissed allegations of horse-trading and emphasized the voluntary nature of joining TVK. He criticized the DMK for alleged bargaining tactics and commended Chief Minister Vijay for leading a team that cannot be swayed by monetary offers.
