Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy criticized the state, calling it a ‘Jungle Raj’ where police are ineffective, especially when vulnerable groups seek assistance. Jagan Mohan Reddy highlighted instances of lawlessness, emphasizing the government’s focus on corruption and power games rather than citizen safety.
He shared the tragic case of a 17-year-old tribal girl who was lured under false pretenses, sexually assaulted, and later found dead, pointing to a breakdown in the system’s protection mechanisms. Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed concerns over attempts to hurriedly cremate the girl and the delayed police response to the incident.
Moreover, he mentioned a recent bus fire incident in Markapuram where emergency calls for help were allegedly ignored, leading to the loss of 14 lives. Jagan Mohan Reddy criticized the current state government, led by Chandrababu Naidu, for what he described as a lack of governance beyond mere public relations activities.
