Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot criticized the Rajasthan government for its alleged failure to provide adequate treatment and care to women experiencing complications after Caesarean deliveries in government hospitals in Jodhpur, Kota, and Bikaner. Gehlot, after meeting affected families, termed these incidents as signs of a collapsing healthcare system and called for compensation for the victims. He also highlighted his previous government’s free healthcare scheme that offered treatment and medicines worth up to Rs 25 lakh.
During his visit to Jalore, Gehlot accused the state government of neglecting public health, stifling dissent, and delaying local body elections out of fear of defeat. He expressed concern over the government’s intolerance towards criticism, citing cases filed against protesters and opposition voices, and emphasized the need for the government to listen to public concerns.
Gehlot criticized the government for canceling the Prime Minister’s visit to the Balotra refinery, attributing it to serious administrative negligence. He also addressed speculations about his potential shift to Delhi politics, asserting his commitment to serving the people of Rajasthan and the Congress party.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the government’s handling of recent medical issues post-Caesarean deliveries, Gehlot called out the healthcare system’s failure in providing proper care to new mothers. He demanded adequate compensation for affected families and pointed out the successful healthcare initiatives undertaken during his tenure as Chief Minister.
Gehlot raised concerns about the delay in municipal and Panchayati Raj elections, accusing the BJP of avoiding elections due to the fear of losing. He questioned the effectiveness of the government’s Ratri Chaupal initiative, highlighting the lack of genuine public interaction and problem-solving opportunities for citizens.
Demanding a fair investigation into allegations regarding Ram Temple donations, Gehlot emphasized the need to uphold transparency and integrity in matters concerning millions of devotees. He reiterated his commitment to serving the party and the people, accepting any responsibility entrusted to him by the Congress leadership.
