Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda emphasized the need for the Union government to apologize to the youth for subjecting them to lathi charges and brutality during protests. Hooda highlighted the importance of transparency in the examination system to prevent future paper leaks, a concern that has led to widespread student protests. The Congress, led by Rahul Gandhi, initiated the ‘Chhatron ki Goonj’ campaign in response to the issue of paper leaks, ultimately pressuring the BJP government to address the matter.
Hooda raised alarm over the significant impact of paper leaks on approximately 7.5 crore candidates under the BJP government, affecting not only competitive exams but also recruitment tests. He pointed out that Haryana has witnessed over 30 paper leak incidents during the BJP’s tenure, including in various recruitment exams. The prevalence of paper leaks has created a crisis situation, with an overwhelming number of young people vying for a limited number of job opportunities annually.
Highlighting the severity of the situation, Hooda mentioned that more than 152 paper leaks have been reported nationwide, indicating the existence of a widespread network involved in trading exam papers and jobs. Tragically, the issue has led to 26 suicides among candidates, with distress over incidents like the NEET paper leak being a contributing factor. The former CM called for accountability and action to address the rampant paper leak crisis that has plagued the education and recruitment system.
