Former India wicketkeeper-batter Saba Karim praised India’s batting unit for showing promise in the ODI series against England. He emphasized the need for India to solidify their pace attack in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and refine team combinations for upcoming matches. Karim highlighted the positive performances of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill in addressing key concerns in the top order.

India’s batting received a thumbs-up from Karim, who commended Rohit Sharma’s century and Shubman Gill’s impactful contributions. He expressed satisfaction with the team’s batting display and suggested that there are no major issues to address in that department. However, Karim pointed out the necessity for clarity in India’s bowling unit, especially concerning the pace attack if Bumrah is not playing.

Karim underlined the significance of having a wrist spinner who can take crucial wickets during the middle overs. He urged the team management to adopt a strategic approach based on conditions and opposition while finalizing the playing XI. Karim emphasized the importance of thorough planning to ensure the right resources and combinations are utilized effectively.

In the context of India’s recent ODI series against England, Karim highlighted the challenges faced by the bowling attack, particularly in the final match at Lord’s. He noted England’s imposing total of 387/5 and the subsequent pressure on India’s bowlers, indicating areas that need improvement for future matches.
