Former Indian cricketer Robin Singh has officially announced the conclusion of his long-standing connection with the Mumbai Indians franchise. This decision marks the end of a journey that began in 2010. Robin shared this news via a social media post, confirming his departure not only from the IPL team but also from the ILT20 franchise MI Emirates.
While Robin had not been part of the Mumbai Indians’ IPL support staff since 2022, he revealed that this year also marked the conclusion of his involvement with their overseas setup. Expressing his gratitude, Robin thanked the franchise and its supporters for their backing throughout his remarkable journey since 2010. He extended his best wishes to the franchise for the future.
Having been associated with the Mumbai Indians since 2010, Robin played a pivotal role in the franchise’s five IPL title victories and two CLT20 campaigns. Additionally, he served as the general manager of MI Emirates during the inaugural season of the ILT20 in 2023, later being appointed as the head of MI Emirates in 2024. Transitioning into coaching after his playing career, Robin became an integral part of various T20 league setups globally.
A former India international with 136 ODIs under his belt, Robin scored 2336 runs at an average of 25.75 and claimed 69 wickets at an average of 43.26. Notably, he coached the Deccan Chargers (Sunrisers Hyderabad) in the first IPL edition, where they finished last in the league. Robin’s departure signifies the end of a significant chapter in the coaching history of the Mumbai Indians, with fans and former players acknowledging his immense contribution to the franchise’s success over the years.
