Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Bangar expressed his views on the Indian cricket team’s performance in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Bangar noted that while India’s unbeaten run in the group stage has been steady, the team is yet to showcase its best performance. He emphasized that India has the potential to excel further as the competition progresses.

Bangar highlighted the positive aspect of all players getting opportunities in the playing XI, ensuring readiness in case of injuries during the tournament. He also pointed out the need for improvement in catching, citing instances of missed chances in previous matches.

India faces a challenging group comprising South Africa, West Indies, and Zimbabwe in the T20 World Cup. Bangar identified three key players crucial for India’s success in the tournament. He emphasized the importance of Ishan Kishan for explosive starts, Suryakumar Yadav for consistent performances, and Jasprit Bumrah for his pivotal role in crucial bowling situations.

As India prepares to enter the Super 8s stage, they are set to play against South Africa, Zimbabwe, and West Indies on specific dates and venues. The team aims to elevate its performance in the upcoming matches to secure a strong position in the tournament.
