Former Indian cricket stars extended their congratulations to the India U19 team for securing a historic sixth title for the nation. The team achieved this milestone by defeating England by 100 runs in the final match held in Harare, Zimbabwe. India, opting to bat first, overcame an early setback but rallied to post a formidable total of 411/9 in their allotted 50 overs, with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s remarkable 175 off 80 balls being a standout performance.

Virat Kohli praised the U-19 Indian team for their World Cup victory, emphasizing India’s continued dominance in age-group cricket and beyond. The former West Indies cricketer, Ian Rachel Bishop, commended India’s U19 squad for their hard work and smart play, highlighting their deserving win in the final match against England.

England showcased a spirited chase led by notable performances from Ben Dawkins, Mayes, and Caleb Falconer, who scored a remarkable 115 off 67 balls. Despite their efforts, India’s bowlers, particularly RS Ambrish and Deepesh Devendran, ensured a comprehensive victory for the Indian team. Various cricket personalities, including BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla, Indian men’s team head coach Gautam Gambhir, and BCCI president Mithun Manhas, lauded the U19 team for their exceptional performance and triumph in the ICC Under-19 World Cup.
