Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan recently formalized his marriage with Sophie Shine, whom he wed in February 2026, at the registrar’s office in Gurugram. The 46-year-old, originally from Delhi, completed the marriage formalities alongside Sophie Shine, signing the necessary documents in the presence of family members and a priest. The couple had a private wedding ceremony in the Delhi-NCR region on February 21, 2026, after publicly announcing their relationship in 2025.
Sophie Shine, an Irish professional product consultant, now heads the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation. The couple, who first met in Dubai and dated for more than a year, had their engagement on January 12 this year. Notably, this marks Dhawan’s second marriage, having previously been married to Aesha Mukerji from Melbourne in 2012. The cricketer was granted a divorce from Aesha Mukerji on October 5, 2023, citing “mental cruelty,” and they share a son named Zoravar.
Shikhar Dhawan, a left-handed batsman, represented India across all formats from 2010 to 2022, debuting in Test cricket against Australia on March 14, 2013. In Tests, he amassed 2,315 runs in 34 matches at an average of 40.61, including seven centuries and five half-centuries, with a top score of 190. His ODI career saw him score 6,793 runs in 167 games at an average of 44.11, with 11 centuries and 39 fifties. Additionally, he played 68 T20Is, scoring 1,759 runs at 27.92, with a highest score of 92.
Apart from his international career, Dhawan had a successful stint in the Indian Premier League (IPL) from 2008 to 2024, representing various teams like Delhi Daredevils, Mumbai Indians, Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, and Punjab Kings. At the domestic level, he played for Delhi from 2004 to 2024.
