Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh hailed the ongoing student movement as a triumph of democracy, criticizing the long-standing corruption and irregularities in the country’s education system. Addressing the media in Gwalior, Singh accused National Testing Agency (NTA) Chairman Pradeep Joshi of being embroiled in controversies that were allegedly overlooked despite prior warnings.
Singh, who previously chaired the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, expressed shock at the extent of corruption and irregularities he witnessed during his tenure. He highlighted Joshi’s controversial appointments and alleged misconduct, pointing out instances of impropriety in professor appointments during Joshi’s leadership at the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC).
The former CM accused Joshi of being involved in recruitment scams and claimed that despite facing allegations and controversies, Joshi was appointed to key positions, including the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and later as the NTA Chairman. Singh criticized Joshi’s handling of issues within the NTA, citing instances like the NEET paper leak, and questioned his accountability and failure to address irregularities.
