Former Madhya Pradesh Congress President Arun Yadav highlighted that technical issues in the online system have hindered many farmers in the state from registering for wheat procurement at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the Rabi Marketing Year 2026-27. Yadav emphasized the need for extending the registration deadline to accommodate farmers who faced difficulties in completing the process. He expressed concerns that failure to extend the deadline could cast doubts on the system’s efficacy.
Yadav revealed that numerous farmers had reported their inability to register for wheat procurement due to server problems. He urged the government to promptly extend the registration deadline to ensure no farmer is excluded from the process. The initial deadline for registration was set for March 7 but was later extended to March 10, with wheat procurement from registered farmers scheduled to commence on March 16.
The government outlined that procurement activities would occur from March 16 to May 5 in the Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal, and Narmadapuram divisions of the state. In other divisions such as Jabalpur, Gwalior, Rewa, Shahdol, Chambal, and Sagar, procurement is slated to take place from March 23 to May 12. Additionally, a Cabinet committee was formed by the state government to oversee wheat procurement arrangements under the MSP for the Rabi Marketing Year 2026-27 and ensure the availability of gunny bags.
