Former Prime Minister and JD-S Rajya Sabha member H.D. Deve Gowda strongly condemned the recent attacks on churches in various cities across India. Emphasizing that India is a country for people of all faiths, he called for strict action against those responsible for the attacks. Deve Gowda urged all to unite in denouncing such acts of violence.
Deve Gowda highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to a church and stressed the importance of state governments taking decisive action in response to such incidents. He also called on the Prime Minister to address the issue and ensure appropriate measures are taken. The former Prime Minister expressed concern over the attacks and the need for immediate intervention to safeguard religious institutions.
Commenting on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s upcoming ‘AHINDA’ convention, Deve Gowda mentioned that the Congress party president had already addressed the matter. He noted that his party would be organizing a convention in Hassan on January 23. Deve Gowda also raised questions about the definition of ‘AHINDA’ and its implications for various communities.
Deve Gowda reflected on his relationship with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and clarified that he did not play a direct role in Siddaramaiah’s political career. He recounted past interactions with Siddaramaiah, including moments of personal support during difficult times.
