Former Punjab BJP chief, Sunil Jakhar, advised the protesting youth regarding the NEET paper leak issue, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding their movement from political influences. He reassured that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is attentive to the students’ grievances and committed to addressing them. Jakhar stressed the need for resolving the concerns raised by the Delhi protesters through dialogue rather than police intervention.

Acknowledging the potential for disruptive elements to exploit public protests, Jakhar suggested that the police should have exercised greater restraint and sensitivity in handling the situation. He highlighted the necessity for similar restraint in dealing with protests by Punjab’s MGNREGA and sanitation workers. Expressing worry over the politicization of the students’ movement, Jakhar stated that the BJP empathizes with the students’ emotions and is willing to engage in discussions and parliamentary debates on the issue.

Jakhar mentioned Prime Minister Modi’s announcement of a fast-track court hearing on the NEET paper leak and reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing medical and technical education. He cautioned students to remain vigilant against political exploitation of their movement and potential diversion by disruptive elements. Jakhar also warned against the movement being manipulated for political gains, citing past instances like Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement.
