Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje praised the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for his significant role in India’s history, particularly highlighting the Pokhran nuclear tests that she witnessed during his tenure. Raje, who was then a Union Minister of State for External Affairs, emphasized the lessons of patience and strong leadership she learned from Vajpayee during crucial times.
Raje shared Vajpayee’s inspiring words at an event in Jhalrapatan, commemorating his 101st birth anniversary. She gifted the ‘Atal Van’ (Atal Forest) to the people, aiming to plant 11,000 saplings under this initiative. The senior BJP leader also praised Vajpayee’s leadership during the Kargil War and credited him for visionary projects like the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and the Golden Quadrilateral Project.
Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts in fulfilling Vajpayee’s governance vision, Raje underscored the former PM’s dream of river interlinking. She quoted more of Vajpayee’s poetry, urging the nation to face challenges with confidence and unity. MP Dushyant Singh recalled Vajpayee’s impactful UN address in Hindi, which garnered a standing ovation from world leaders.
