Former Rajasthan Leader of the Opposition, Rajendra Rathore, criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for supporting a recent student protest, calling it a “political gimmick” that undermines democratic institutions. Rathore accused the Congress of using political theatrics due to dwindling public support. He claimed that Rahul Gandhi, in his role as Leader of the Opposition, politicized the student protest for partisan reasons.
Rathore mentioned that the protesting students had already engaged with BJP leader J.P. Nadda, who addressed their concerns. He emphasized the need for constructive dialogue over political drama. Rathore alleged that the Congress was diverting attention from India’s economic growth by creating unnecessary controversies.
Targeting former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Rathore found it ironic that Gehlot was now involved in student-related protests. He highlighted instances of question paper leaks during the Congress government’s tenure, affecting job aspirants. Rathore criticized the compromised appointments and the credibility damage to the Rajasthan Public Service Commission during that period.
Rathore also accused the Congress of neglecting students protesting against paper leaks in the past and emphasized that political tactics would not erase the party’s history. He praised BJP governments for transparent recruitment processes and employment opportunities. Rathore claimed that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, employment generation had significantly improved through initiatives like job fairs. He alleged that India’s unemployment rate was currently low and criticized Rajasthan’s high unemployment ranking during the Congress’s rule.
