In Bihar, former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) women’s wing state president Ritu Jaiswal has officially become a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The joining ceremony took place at the BJP’s state headquarters in Patna, where she was welcomed by BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi and Bihar Revenue and Land Reform Minister Dilip Jaiswal.
Ritu Jaiswal expressed that her decision to join the BJP was motivated by national interests. She commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP for advocating the philosophy of Antyodaya, which focuses on ensuring that government benefits reach the most marginalized individuals in society. Despite anticipating criticism and online trolling, she emphasized her courage in the face of backlash.
During the event, Sanjay Saraogi criticized the Rashtriya Janata Dal, highlighting that many leaders are inclined towards joining the BJP due to the popularity and leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Ritu Jaiswal, known for her active involvement in Bihar politics, contested in various elections, including the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Ritu Jaiswal’s transition to the BJP is seen as a significant move in the political landscape of north Bihar, especially in the Sitamarhi region, according to political analysts.
