Former Union Minister and RLJP chief Pashupati Kumar Paras was admitted to a private hospital in Patna due to sudden illness and breathing difficulties. He is currently receiving treatment with doctors closely monitoring his condition.
Upon learning about his uncle’s hospitalization, Union Minister Chirag Paswan hurried to Sai Hospital in Kankarbagh to visit him. Chirag Paswan showed respect by touching his uncle’s feet and then embracing him, seeking updates on Paras’s health from the medical team.
Chirag Paswan, addressing the media, described Pashupati Paras as a fatherly figure to him, emphasizing his personal concern beyond political differences. The relationship between the two had strained after the death of Ram Vilas Paswan, resulting in a split in the Lok Janshakti Party in 2021.
Supporters of Pashupati Paras gathered at the hospital to inquire about his well-being, indicating a potential reconciliation between the factions led by Paras and Chirag Paswan. Despite past political conflicts, recent interactions hint at a thaw in relations, sparking speculation about future reconciliation efforts.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Lok Janshakti Party secured six seats in Bihar. Following the split in 2021, Chirag Paswan’s party, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), won five seats in Bihar under the NDA in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Subsequently, in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, his party contested 29 seats and emerged victorious in 19.
While detailed medical information is yet to be disclosed, sources suggest that Pashupati Paras is in a stable condition and responding well to treatment.
