Former Union Minister and BJP MLA-elect Rameswar Teli expressed gratitude to Chief Minister-designate Himanta Biswa Sarma for selecting him to be part of the new Assam Cabinet. Teli, who won the Duliajan Assembly seat in the recent Assam elections, stated his commitment to serving all sections of society and the state’s development.
Speaking to reporters in Guwahati before the swearing-in ceremony, Teli anticipated a significant day for Assam with the presence of top national leaders. He thanked the Chief Minister for the opportunity and highlighted the upcoming event’s importance with dignitaries like PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in attendance.
Set to take oath as a Cabinet minister, Teli reiterated his dedication to the people of Assam, emphasizing his service to various communities and tribes. Known for his influence in Upper Assam, especially among the tea garden belt and Other Backward Classes, Teli’s inclusion in the Council of Ministers was announced by Sarma.
The swearing-in ceremony of the new Assam government is scheduled for Tuesday at the Veterinary College Playground in Khanapara, Guwahati’s outskirts. The event is expected to be graced by PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and other NDA Chief Ministers.
