Amid concerns over irregularities in donations at Shri Badrinath Temple in Uttarakhand’s Badrinath, Swami Darshan Bharti of Devbhoomi Raksha Abhiyan has called for investigations into past allegations, including the reported theft of gold from Kedarnath Temple. Bharti emphasized the need for a comprehensive probe, extending beyond recent events to encompass historical incidents.

Swami Darshan Bharti highlighted the prevalence of scams at Badrinath and Kedarnath Temples, alleging that a significant portion of donations ends up in the pockets of individuals rather than in the designated collection boxes. He urged authorities to address these issues promptly to prevent further financial misconduct and ensure transparency in temple operations.

Expressing concern over the alleged mismanagement, Bharti urged the Uttarakhand government and the temple committee to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to thoroughly examine all past accusations, including the reported gold theft at Kedarnath Temple. He stressed the importance of holding accountable those responsible for any wrongdoing, regardless of their positions or affiliations.

In response to the ongoing controversy, the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has taken action by suspending an official following a complaint regarding temple donations embezzlement. The committee cited concerns about the integrity of the investigation and the need for a fair inquiry into the allegations raised.
