Free gas stoves and LPG cylinders were handed out to 251 Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) workers as part of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. The distribution event took place at the Civic Centre, the MCD headquarters. Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti Raj Bhushan Chaudhary emphasized the scheme’s importance in enhancing women’s health and empowerment.
Addressing the attendees, Chaudhary highlighted the positive impact of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. The program was attended by Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva and Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh. Notable figures like Deputy Mayor Jaibhagwan Yadav and others were also present at the event.
Union Minister Chaudhary noted the alleviation of women’s cooking challenges, especially during the monsoon season, due to the Ujjwala Yojana. The initiative has significantly reduced health and environmental risks associated with traditional cooking methods. Delhi BJP chief Sachdeva praised PM Modi’s efforts in introducing schemes like clean cooking fuel to improve women’s kitchen experiences.
Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh highlighted the distribution of gas cylinders to MCD employees under the PMUY. He emphasized the ongoing efforts of the MCD, led by PM Modi, to ensure women in Delhi benefit from this initiative. Programme conveners Kapoor and Verma mentioned the positive impact of the Ujjwala Yojana on women’s health, time management, and overall well-being.
