French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in India on Tuesday to enhance ties and reinforce the India–France strategic partnership. He received a warm welcome at Mumbai airport from the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, and the Governors of Maharashtra and Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat.
During his visit, President Macron will engage in bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and jointly launch the India – France Year of Innovation 2026. The Ministry of External Affairs expressed that the visit will further boost the dynamic India–France strategic partnership.
President Macron’s visit, at the invitation of PM Modi, includes participation in the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi on February 19. The leaders will meet in Mumbai to review progress under the strategic partnership and discuss key regional and global developments.
Prime Minister Modi and President Macron are scheduled to hold talks at Lok Bhavan in Mumbai to assess advancements in the India-France Strategic Partnership. The discussions will encompass strengthening the relationship, expanding cooperation into new sectors, and exchanging views on global issues.
Later in the day, both leaders will inaugurate the India-France Year of Innovation 2026 and address an audience comprising business leaders, start-up founders, researchers, and innovators from both nations.
