Fresh developments have emerged in the investigation of realtor Ketan Agarwal’s alleged murder at Pune’s Lohagad Fort. Police have uncovered crucial digital evidence suggesting a pre-planned conspiracy. The prime accused, 20-year-old Siya Goyal, made a phone call to her alleged lover and co-accused, Chetan Chaudhary, just 34 minutes before Agarwal was allegedly pushed off a cliff, indicating possible coordination for the crime.
The investigation revealed that the final phone call between Goyal and Chaudhary is considered a significant piece of digital evidence. It is being meticulously examined by the Pune Rural Police’s technical surveillance team. Investigators suspect that during the call, Goyal informed Chaudhary of her location at a viewpoint inside Lohagad Fort, ensuring no other visitors were nearby to interrupt their alleged plan.
Police sources disclosed that the accused attempted to delete several months of WhatsApp messages, Instagram chats, and voice notes to eliminate any evidence linking them to the murder plot. Cyber experts are now working to recover the deleted data using forensic tools. Authorities are comparing the retrieved digital records with location history, call detail records (CDRs), and internet IP logs to establish a comprehensive timeline, which is expected to support charges of premeditated murder under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The investigation indicates that Agarwal was allegedly killed on June 18 after Goyal, who was engaged to marry him in November, decided to end the relationship. Chaudhary has also been implicated as a co-accused in the case. The alleged murder conspiracy was reportedly finalized by the end of May, with investigators suspecting an earlier attempt on June 14 when Goyal allegedly tried to push Agarwal off the same cliff, surviving after grabbing onto a bush.
