Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar’s decision to convene a party meeting in Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s chamber at the Vidhan Bhavan has sparked tensions within the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut criticized senior leaders for according legitimacy to “traitors” by meeting Shinde.
Raut emphasized the need for senior leaders to avoid legitimizing “traitors” and questioned the choice of venue for the meeting. He expressed discontent over the erosion of credibility due to holding the meeting in Shinde’s chamber, known for treachery and corruption.
Raut further criticized the accommodating approach of NCP chief Pawar, highlighting differences in political principles. He stressed the importance of maintaining political decorum and principles within the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance.
Expanding on the fallout within the alliance, Raut raised concerns about the lack of transparency in a recent high-level meeting at the Vidhan Bhavan. He questioned the outcome of the meeting and urged all constituents of the Maha Vikas Aghadi to uphold fundamental principles.
Accusing Pawar of legitimizing the ruling dispensation, Raut expressed discontent over the perceived double standards in dealing with betrayal. He emphasized the need for political parties to uphold integrity and not compromise on principles.
Raut clarified that his criticism was political and not personal, underlining the importance of maintaining party stance. He emphasized the significance of not dignifying traitors and the potential impact on the state’s image.
