Fulham has finalized the acquisition of Norway winger Oscar Bobb from Manchester City for a reported £27 million fee. The 22-year-old has committed to a five-and-a-half-year contract at Craven Cottage, where he will wear the number 14 shirt. Bobb’s transfer to Fulham marks a significant addition to Marco Silva’s attacking lineup as the club aims for European qualification.
Bobb expressed his excitement about joining Fulham, stating, “It feels great to be here. I had a great day meeting everyone, and I’m very excited.” He sought advice from Fulham midfielder and Norway teammate Sander Berge before making the decision to move. Bobb mentioned, “I spoke to Sander, my good friend, and I spoke to the manager, and he explained what the system’s like, how the lads are, and how the club is. He seemed lovely, so it was an easy decision.”
Having made 61 senior appearances for Manchester City, scoring 13 goals and providing 27 assists across all competitions, Bobb’s opportunities reduced following the arrival of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in January. Despite featuring 15 times for City this season, he failed to score, with his last match on December 17 against Brentford in the Carabao Cup ending prematurely due to injury.
While Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund also showed interest in Bobb, Fulham acted swiftly to secure his services. Bobb, who has played six times for Norway this year, reunites with Berge at Craven Cottage. Fulham, currently in strong form under Silva with just one loss in their last seven Premier League games, sits seventh in the table after a recent 2-1 victory over Brighton. Bobb is expected to enhance Fulham’s attacking options for the remainder of the season.
