FWICE Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit responded to filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma’s suggestion to ban FWICE by revealing that RGV owes technicians over 1 crore for his film “Officer.”
Pandit, during a press conference, emphasized that in a democratic country like India, everyone has the right to their opinion. He highlighted that RGV owes more than a crore and 25 lakhs to technicians and workers, dating back to 2017.
Despite ongoing efforts to resolve the issue, RGV requested an extended deadline for payments in 2019. Pandit disclosed that the outstanding amount remains unpaid, urging RGV to settle the dues and issue an apology.
Ram Gopal Varma had criticized FWICE as a ‘kangaroo court’ in a tweet after the organization imposed a non-Cooperation Directive against Ranveer Singh. However, FWICE lifted the ban after Ranveer Singh sent a legal notice, ending the controversy.
