The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has declared a Non-Cooperation Directive (NCD) towards Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh. This action follows a complaint raised by Farhan Akhtar against Ranveer Singh after his exit from the movie “Don 3.” FWICE expressed disappointment over Ranveer Singh’s behavior towards the Federation and project stakeholders, leading to the decision of the NCD.
Ranveer Singh was initially cast as the lead in the third installment of the ‘Don’ series but withdrew from the project shortly before filming was set to begin. The producers, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, informed FWICE of a financial loss of around Rs 45 crore due to the sudden departure. FWICE reached out to Ranveer multiple times to address the issue.
In response to FWICE, Ranveer Singh stated that the Federation was not the appropriate platform to address the grievances raised, emphasizing that the concerns were contractual and required legal resolution. Reports had circulated that Ranveer offered to return his Rs 10 crore signing amount and provide a stake in his upcoming film “Pralay” to compensate for the pre-production costs incurred by the production house. However, sources close to the banner denied these claims.
