In a significant move against public alcohol consumption, Gautam Buddha Nagar Police have taken legal action against 501 violators. The operation, conducted under the supervision of Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh, targeted individuals consuming alcohol and other intoxicants in public places. Legal proceedings were initiated under Section 292 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The crackdown on public drinking saw 366 individuals facing legal consequences in an earlier incident on June 7. Central Noida Zone police identified and took action against these violators. The enforcement drive, led by Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh and DCP (Central Noida) Shailendra Kumar Singh, aims to maintain law and order by curbing public alcohol consumption.
The police emphasized that consuming alcohol in public areas can disrupt public peace and law and order. Therefore, strict monitoring and enforcement actions are being undertaken to address such incidents. The Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Commissionerate has affirmed that the campaign against public drinking will persist, urging citizens to comply with regulations for public spaces.
Earlier this year, a special operation on January 6 resulted in the arrest of 125 individuals across different areas of Gautam Buddha Nagar. The joint effort by police teams from Sector-63 and Ecotech-3 police stations aimed to combat substance abuse in public spaces, ensuring a safer environment for residents and visitors. The crackdown targeted individuals found consuming alcohol or intoxicants in various public locations, including markets, roads, and parks.
