Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Central Command, highlighted the importance of adaptability and technology-driven military capabilities in addressing the changing nature of warfare. Speaking at the School of Artillery, he discussed the need for innovation in operational art for Multi-Domain Operations. The Army Commander also inspected the School of Artillery’s advanced training facilities aimed at enhancing battlefield surveillance and precision targeting.
During his visit, General Sengupta engaged with Lt Gen N. S. Sarna, Commandant of the School of Artillery, focusing on leveraging technology for training methods to prepare a future-ready force. Additionally, Lieutenant General H. S. Vandra, the General Officer Commanding of Madhya Bharat Area, visited the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), Mhow, to explore innovative technologies for enhancing operational capabilities. The Senior Colonel Commandant reviewed various technology initiatives and Centers of Expertise, including drone fabrication, Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Technologies, and 5G/6G, to support National Technology Missions.
Furthermore, discussions with Regimental Commanders centered on the strategic deployment and effective utilization of Electronic Warfare capabilities in the evolving battlespace. In a separate initiative, the Indian Army, in collaboration with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, conducted a Skill Development Programme on AI in Military Logistics & Sustainment at Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi. The program aimed to enhance indigenous capabilities in Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI for military logistics, with participation from military leaders, academia, and industry experts.
