Ghana and Senegal have revealed their 26-man squads for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup. Ghana’s head coach, Carlos Queiroz, selected a squad with a mix of experienced and young players, including key stars and promising talents. Notable absences from Ghana’s squad are Mohammed Kudus and Alexander Djiku, both sidelined due to injuries.
Ghana, making its fifth World Cup appearance, has been placed in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia. The team will kick off its campaign against Panama on June 17 before taking on England and Croatia. Despite reaching the quarterfinals in 2010, Ghana struggled to progress past the group stage in their recent World Cup appearances.
In Senegal’s 26-member squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Sadio Mane stands out as a key player. Mane, a former player for Liverpool and Bayern Munich, currently plays as a left winger for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. Senegal’s squad includes three goalkeepers, eight defenders, seven midfielders, and eight forwards, with the team set to compete in Group I against France, Norway, and Iraq.
Senegal’s squad, led by head coach Pape Thiaw, features notable players like Kalidou Koulibaly and Idrissa Gana Gueye. The 2026 FIFA World Cup will see a record 10 African teams participating in the tournament.
