Girls have excelled over boys in the Telangana Intermediate public exams, as per the recently released results. The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education disclosed the outcomes for both first and second-year exams, with a total of 9.97 lakh students participating in the February-March examinations.
In the first year, the overall pass rate was 66.20%, with girls achieving a pass percentage of 74.40% compared to boys at 57.69%. Out of 4,89,123 students who took the first-year exams, 3,23,807 students successfully passed.
Moving to the second year, the pass rate was 70.58%, where girls outshone boys again with a pass percentage of 78.65% versus boys at 62.50%. Out of 5,07,948 students who appeared for the second-year exams, 3,58,490 students passed.
The pass percentage has shown a slight increase this year compared to the previous year, with the second-year pass rate rising to 75.61% from 72.34% in 2025. Government advisor K. Keshav Rao, along with education secretary Yogita Rana and other officials, announced the results and extended congratulations to the successful students and their parents.
Among districts, Medchal Malkajgiri secured the highest pass percentage in the first year, while Jayashankar Bhupalapally topped in the second year. Students can request re-verification and recounting from April 13 to April 20, as per the Board of Intermediate Education. Additionally, the schedule for advanced supplementary exams, commencing from May 13, was also announced, with practical exams scheduled for May 22 in two sessions. Fees for the supplementary exams can be paid between April 13 and April 20.
