Glasgow Cosmic has announced a star-studded roster for the European T20 Premier League (ETPL), blending international cricket stars with Scottish talent. The team includes players like Finn Allen, Liam Livingstone, and Scotland captain Richie Berrington. The franchise, owned by Vipul Agrawal and Tansha Batra, aims to boost Scottish cricket with a mix of global experience and local representation.
The inclusion of Scottish players Berrington and George Munsey underlines Glasgow Cosmic’s dedication to Scottish cricket in the upcoming ETPL season. Led by CEO Rashid Khan, the team is set to compete with a strong lineup of players. Beyond the game, the franchise plans to support cricket growth in Scotland through community engagement and grassroots programs.
Sanctioned by the ICC in November last year, the ETPL involves teams from Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands, aiming to enhance European cricket globally. The tournament, scheduled from August 26 to September 20, will feature six teams playing 33 matches. The league’s inaugural season promises an exciting collaboration among European cricket boards.
Glasgow Cosmic joins other franchises like Dublin, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Belfast, and Rotterdam in the ETPL. Notable personalities like Chris Gayle, Steve Waugh, and Mitchell Marsh are involved in various team ownership roles. The league is set to showcase top cricket talent and boost the sport’s popularity across Europe.
