Goans Hockey emerged victorious in Division ‘C’, defeating Telangana Hockey 6-3 in a thrilling match at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda International Astro-turf Stadium. Dellina Mendes and Bertila Kerketta shone for Goans with two goals each, while Telangana’s Seema Tirkey, Vidya Kumari, Anandi Mahanand, and Navyashri Akula also found the net.
In Division ‘B’, Hockey Bengal clinched a narrow 1-0 win over Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu Hockey in a Pool A encounter. Captain Puja Kumari Shaw secured the winning goal in the second quarter at the 21st-minute mark.
Hockey Chandigarh dominated their Division ‘B’, Pool B match against Hockey Gujarat with a resounding 12-1 victory. Captain Kafi led the scoring with four goals, supported by teammates Annu, Aanchal, Nancy Kashyap, Bhawana, and Yasmin Sharma. Niyati Parmar of Hockey Gujarat scored their lone goal in the 23rd minute.
Meanwhile, Hockey Uttarakhand outplayed Hockey Karnataka with a 6-1 win in their Pool B, Division ‘B’ clash. Kareena’s hat trick and goals from Captain Minakshi, Devyani Joshi, and Diya sealed the victory for Hockey Uttarakhand. Preeti Neelaraddi scored the solitary goal for Hockey Karnataka.
On the first day, Delhi, Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir also secured wins in their respective pool matches at the national sub-junior championship.
