In a significant meeting with BJP President Nitin Nabin in Siliguri, Gorkha leaders from West Bengal’s Darjeeling district demanded a separate statehood or Union Territory status for the hills of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, and Kurseong in North Bengal.
Following the meeting, BJP Lok Sabha MP Raju Bista stated that Nabin assured a permanent political solution for the North Bengal hills if BJP wins the upcoming Assembly elections in West Bengal later this year. Bista emphasized the importance of expressing opinions and resolving issues through dialogue.
During the ongoing Parivartan Yatra in West Bengal, BJP President Nabin criticized the current Trinamool Congress-led state government, accusing it of betrayal, crime against women, and corruption. Nabin highlighted the need for change and relief for the people of West Bengal from the existing crisis.
Nabin further criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for allegedly promoting appeasement politics and favoritism towards certain groups. He emphasized the BJP’s commitment to bringing about a transformation and reaching out to every citizen in the state.
