The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) apprehended Aditya Sharma, a government employee, in Dausa district for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 15,000. Sharma, a laboratory assistant at Government Senior Secondary School, Baswa, was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe in the name of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ramsingh Rajawat. The ACB received a complaint through its helpline (1064) regarding a demand for a bribe of Rs 30,000 for a stay order in a civil case.
The complaint alleged that Sharma, acting as an intermediary for the SDM, was pressuring the complainant for payment. Following verification on April 17, the ACB conducted a trap operation and caught Sharma in the act of accepting Rs 15,000. The operation was carried out under the supervision of senior police officials Bhuvan Bhushan and Shabbir Khan.
A case will be filed under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and investigations are ongoing to ascertain the involvement of others. In a separate incident, the ACB’s Sawai Madhopur unit nabbed Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Kajal Meena for accepting a bribe of Rs 60,000. The bribe was related to issuing a final decree concerning a land partition matter.
