Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel, H.D. Kumaraswamy, Leader of the Opposition R. Ashoka, and BJP Yuva Morcha National President Tejasvi Surya criticized a government event in Bengaluru for causing traffic congestion that delayed some students from reaching their NEET re-examination centers. The Congress party expressed regret over the students missing the re-exam but questioned the necessity of the retest. Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President B.K. Hariprasad acknowledged the traffic issues during the rally and expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to the students.
Addressing a press conference, Kumaraswamy highlighted that students faced difficulties reaching their exam centers due to the traffic disruptions caused by the Congress rally. He emphasized the importance of public representatives ensuring that important examinations are not disrupted. Kumaraswamy also compared the situation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s considerate behavior towards students during exams.
Leader of the Opposition R. Ashoka criticized the government for the severe traffic congestion caused by the program on Palace Road. He pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi delayed his movement to avoid inconveniencing students appearing for the NEET re-examination. Ashoka questioned the timing of the Congress rally and suggested that the event could have been postponed to prevent student inconvenience.
Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya condemned the government for organizing a major convention at Palace Grounds during the NEET re-examination, causing traffic congestion and distress to students. He criticized the lack of consideration for student welfare and suggested that the event could have been rescheduled to avoid disruptions. Surya also accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of engaging in “show-off politics” on student-related issues.
Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President B.K. Hariprasad responded to the criticism by stating that the BJP had not addressed serious questions regarding the NEET re-examination. He reiterated regret for any inconvenience caused by the traffic congestion during the rally and emphasized that the event was scheduled on a Sunday to minimize public impact.
