A total of 1,244 products have been identified in 773 districts across the country under the One District One Product (ODOP) framework, as announced by the government. This initiative aims to boost grassroots export growth by recognizing potential products and services in 734 districts. State Export Promotion Committees (SEPCs) and District Export Promotion Committees (DEPCs) have been set up in all 36 states/UTs to aid in implementation and address supply chain challenges.

Under the ODOP framework, 249 District Export Action Plans (DEAPs) have been put into effect by their respective DEPCs to streamline the value chain from production to export. To enhance market access for ODOP products, a dedicated ODOP Storefront has been launched on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), offering over 500 product categories and 1,300 products for procurement. Additionally, more than 10 states have introduced specialized e-commerce platforms for the marketing and sale of ODOP products.

The government has taken various measures to promote ODOP products, including facilitating participation in national and international exhibitions, conducting capacity building initiatives in partnership with different agencies, and organizing e-commerce onboarding drives for Government e-Marketplace (GeM) – ODOP Bazaar. ODOP, an initiative by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), selects, brands, and promotes at least one product from each district to foster comprehensive growth across all regions.

Financial assistance of up to Rs 200 crore per state or UT Governments with legislatures is provided through a 50-year interest-free loan under the Scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) for the establishment of PM Ekta Malls (Unity Malls) to boost the sale of ODOP, GI, and local handicraft products. The Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme, implemented by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), integrates the ODOP approach in the food processing sector by offering various support measures, including credit-linked capital subsidy, seed capital support, capacity building, and branding & marketing assistance.
