The government introduced ‘SAMPANN’ (System for Accounting and Management of Pension) to allow pensioners to securely manage their official documents from anywhere. This online system, designed for Department of Telecommunications (DoT) pensioners, streamlines pension processing, sanctioning, and direct disbursement to bank accounts. Additionally, it provides online grievance redressal, digital profile management, and transaction records, enhancing transparency and efficiency for telecom retirees.
In line with the government’s digital governance vision, key pension documents like gratuity payment orders, pension certificates/ePPOs, and Form 16 are now accessible through DigiLocker. Recently, the 15th Pension Adalat addressed 1,087 long-standing grievances from pensioners across various departments and ministries, with 815 grievances resolved promptly during the event. This initiative, held at the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), aims to provide timely justice to pensioners.
Moreover, the Atal Pension Yojana (APY) has garnered 8,45,17,419 enrollments as of November 30, 2025. This scheme, targeting universal social security, especially for the underprivileged and workers in the unorganized sector, offers flexible minimum guaranteed pensions ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 per month.
