The Central government has directed all beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme in Gujarat to complete annual e-KYC before June 30. This step is crucial for receiving scheme instalments. The Office of the Director of Agriculture has issued a notification stating that e-KYC is now mandatory each financial year for registered beneficiaries.
The process for the 2026-27 financial year has already commenced. Financial aid under the PM-KISAN scheme will only be disbursed to beneficiaries who have successfully completed the authentication process. The Agriculture Department in Gujarat is urging all eligible farmers to ensure compliance by the deadline to avoid any disruption in benefits.
Beneficiaries have three options to complete the verification process. They can opt for face authentication through the PM-KISAN mobile app with the help of village-level officials. Alternatively, they can visit Common Service Centres (CSC) or e-Gram centres for biometric authentication. The third option allows beneficiaries to independently complete the process using the PM-KISAN mobile app by logging in as a “Beneficiary” and authenticating themselves with their Aadhaar or registration number.
The department emphasized that beneficiaries using the app can also assist up to 100 others in completing face-authentication-based e-KYC. Special consideration has been given to farmers residing away from their native villages or those who have migrated for work. They are requested to complete the process from their current location before the deadline.
The PM-KISAN scheme, initiated by the central government in 2019, aims to provide income support to eligible farmer families through direct benefit transfers in instalments throughout the financial year.
