Amid ongoing disruptions in Parliament and opposition protests, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju emphasized the government’s consistent support for discussing the NEET paper leak matter. Rijiju accused the opposition of using the issue to disrupt House proceedings, leading to uproar for the fourth consecutive day.

Rijiju highlighted that all allies of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) are in agreement for a thorough discussion on the NEET issue. He also conveyed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for strict action against those responsible for the paper leaks. The deadlock between the government and opposition has halted proceedings in both Houses, with the former ready for a debate while the latter demands the Education Minister’s resignation before engaging in discussions.

During the Rajya Sabha session, Rijiju informed the House about the government’s efforts to engage with opposition leaders, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, to facilitate discussions. He criticized the opposition for setting conditions instead of focusing on the discussion, emphasizing the need for a serious debate on the sensitive student-related issue without politicizing it.

Rijiju stressed the establishment of fast-track courts to ensure swift justice in NEET paper leak cases, aiming to swiftly punish the guilty parties. He urged the opposition to withdraw their conditions and allow uninterrupted discussions on the NEET issue in the House. However, the opposition remains steadfast in their demand for the Union Education Minister’s resignation, citing widespread exam irregularities.
