Over 1.49 lakh schools have integrated Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and digital programs, including 1.76 lakh smart classrooms and 1.79 lakh ICT labs as per government data. Digital platforms like SWAYAM have facilitated learning, offering 18,580 courses with over 6.1 crore enrollments and 53.7 lakh certifications.
Initiatives like SWAYAM PRABHA, PM e-VIDYA, and DIKSHA have enhanced learning accessibility through various mediums such as television, radio, digital content, and e-resources. DIKSHA, for instance, provides more than 3.66 lakh e-content resources in 135 languages.
At the higher education level, the One Nation One Subscription project has broadened access to academic and research resources in 7,414 institutions, benefiting close to 99 lakh users. The Atal Innovation Mission has set up over 10,000 Atal Tinkering Labs to promote innovation and entrepreneurship, benefiting over 1.1 crore students and aiding in the development of 16 lakh projects in emerging technologies.
Moreover, 72 Atal Incubation Centres have assisted more than 6,700 startups, leading to the creation of over 32,000 jobs. The statement highlighted the significant growth of India’s startup ecosystem, with over 2.3 lakh recognized startups. Various digital platforms and inclusive programs have empowered the youth, positioning them as contributors to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Skill development in India has become more inclusive through the transformation of Jan Shikshan Sansthans (JSS) in 2018. These institutions now offer courses tailored to local demands, such as tailoring, embroidery, handicrafts, food processing, and health-related services, fostering livelihood generation at the grassroots level. Since 2018, around 36.48 lakh beneficiaries have been trained under JSS.
Since December 2024, JSS products have been marketed on the UdyamKart portal, directly connecting artisans and micro-entrepreneurs with buyers. As of March 31, 2026, 26,720 tribal beneficiaries have enrolled, with 26,519 receiving training.
