The Kisan Sarathi platform, established in July 2021, connects 4,767 ICAR scientists and 113 ICAR institutes with 2.95 crore registered farmers, including 56.16 lakh women beneficiaries. It has addressed 19.21 lakh queries and issued 21,900 advisories covering 351 commodities.
Around 2.89 crore farmers enrolled through the nearest KVK, with 5.35 lakh joining via Kisan Call Centres, 21,517 through mobile apps, 2,416 through the web portal, and 39,193 through Common Service Centres. The platform operates in 37 states and Union Territories, spanning 768 districts and 6.63 lakh villages.
Utilizing the Interactive Information Dissemination System (IIDS), Kisan Sarathi facilitates two-way communication between farmers and experts, aiding in the transfer of agricultural knowledge from lab to land. It offers timely, authentic, and multilingual advisories, along with access to schemes, weather updates, and expert consultations.
The Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology and the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare jointly spearhead the Kisan Sarathi initiative. Implemented by the Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute and the Digital India Corporation, the platform integrates national services like Kisan Call Centre, Common Service Centre, and India Meteorological Department, offering access to 610 schemes, including 102 central government schemes.
