The Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman (PM-POSHAN) scheme by the Union government, which offers hot and fresh cooked meals to students up to class 8 in ‘Anganwadi’ centers and government schools, is proving effective in Madhya Pradesh under the BJP-led government. In a government-run ‘Sandipani’ school in Tendukheda village, Damoh district, students were seen enjoying meals like ‘pudi-sabzi’ and dal. A student named Shikha Lodhi expressed her satisfaction, stating that they come to school daily because they receive good meals. The students appreciated the variety of hot meals provided daily as part of the Mid-day Meal (MDM) scheme, mandatory in government schools up to class 8. Madan Singh Lodhi, a teacher at the school, mentioned that the menu fixed by the state government is followed diligently. The meals, prepared by a self-help group of women, are ensured to be fresh, hygienic, and served in a clean environment on the school premises. The ‘PM POSHAN’ scheme, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, focuses on providing nutritional support and improving student participation in schools. Additionally, during his visit to Dhar district, PM Modi inaugurated India’s first PM MITRA Park, a textile hub, as part of his 5F Vision to integrate India’s textile value chain.
