Amid recent tension in Beldanga, Murshidabad district of West Bengal over the alleged murder of a local migrant worker from Jharkhand, Governor C.V. Ananda Bose has issued a security advisory to the state government. The advisory aims to prevent violence and its escalation in the future to ensure public safety and prevent disruptions.
The Governor highlighted the potential for disruptive forces to quickly mobilize violent protesters, causing hardships and posing threats to life and property. The advisory includes 15 points focusing on intelligence strengthening, real-time information gathering, and addressing current issues and conflicts.
Key suggestions in the advisory involve enhancing intelligence mechanisms, coordinating with central and state agencies, and engaging with local informers. Additionally, the Governor emphasized the need for vigilance, proactive patrolling, and swift actions against provocateurs to maintain law and order.
Governor Ananda Bose stressed the importance of community engagement, trust-building, and de-escalation strategies to prevent tensions from escalating. The advisory also calls for prompt responses to distress calls, crowd control measures, and collaboration with local leaders to ensure peace and security.
